Bangalore - Weekend trip - Nandi Hills

Nandi Hills is about 60 kms from Bangalore. It is also known as Nandidurga, it was one of the summer retreats of Tipu Sultan.It is a very beautiful place with nature around you at the highest level of about 1478 mtrs and about 3940 ft above sea level.On the top of the hill, there are temples dedicated to Sri Ugra Narasimha and Sri Yoga Narasimha.On the lower hill there is a temple dedicated to Sri Bhoga Narasimha.Its best if you are on top of the hill before sunrise. The wind, fog and clouds that blow towards you in the morning is just amazing.There are two roads to the top one that goes through Chikballapur and the other that goes through Doddaballapur.
